Europa League 2010-11 play-off draw

Liverpool will face Turkish cup winners Trabzonspor in the Europa League play-off
round, while Manchester City have been handed a trip to Romanian minnows FC Timisoara.

The draw for the final hurdle to making the competition's group phase was carried out this morning in Nyon, Switzerland and featured 74 clubs. Fellow British teams Aston Villa, Motherwell, Dundee United, The New Saints and Celtic also learnt their fate and can prepare for the matches to be played on August 19 and 26.

Roy Hodgson's side were handed a tough looking tie as they look to down the six-times Turkish league champions. Villa have been handed the chance for revenge against Rapid Vienna after the most successful club in Austrian history downed them at the same stage last season.

City will go for a trip into the unknown against Timisoara, with Celtic set to get over their Champions League disappointment with games against Dutch outfit FC Utrecht. Motherwell will face ex-Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba's Odense, Dundee United lock horns with AEK Athens and Welsh champions The New Saints have been rewarded with a match-up against Bulgarian's CSKA Sofia
